High Five for Friday!

Hi!  How are you?  How was your week?  Mine was crazy busy, but also so good.  I’m looking forward to the weekend, but this past week was so great. Here is a recap of some highlights:

1.  This weekend my sweet 7 year old corgi, with her short stumpy legs, ran her first ever 5k race!!! I was so proud of her. She only took a few walk breaks and “potty breaks” (where she pretends she has to pee but she is just really resting) and ended up finishing in 42 minutes! Run, Sasha, run!

2.This week I have been celebrating my birthday week.  I already feel so spoiled by my family (Thanks mom!  Thanks Mary and Dave!), but I also spoiled myself with coffee, donuts, cookies (I am sensing a theme here…).  Plus I bought myself a new Vera Bradley duffle bag!  They are having some great sales right now and free shipping on all orders!

3. Kevin and I have been participating in the University of Nebraska Young Alumni Academy where we get to learn about all the cool things UNL is currently doing, meet some cool people, and tour different parts of the campus.  Last night Kevin’s dreams came true when the Nebrasketball Coach Tim Miles came to speak.  Even though they had just come off a horrible loss at home, Coach Miles was hilarious, engaging, and silly.  It was everything I expected and more.  Plus we got to tour the behind-the-scenes parts of the football stadium and go down on the field.  Always a great experience.

4.Since tomorrow is my birthday, my sweet husband is taking me for a little getaway to Omaha. I don’t know all the plans, but I believe shopping, eating, drinks, and maybe sports are involved so I’m beyond excited!

5.  This made me LOL!  It is sooooo true!
