Full moon throws me for a full loop

Do you notice when it’s a full moon? I can always tell when it’s coming. I feel off. I feel tired and sluggish. I want to eat everything in the pantry, while simultaneously taking a nap. Yesterday I had good intentions to write up a new post as soon as a I got home from work. But then I ate dinner and immediately fell asleep on the couch. Seriously, I was out at about 7 p.m. I woke up a bit later, and ended up back in bed at 9:30 p.m. I sleep a lot, but this was excessive even for me.   Am I alone here? Once someone told…

    Five Links for the Weekend

Happy weekend!!  Below are a few links and stories to get you through the slow parts of your weekend (or save them for next week when you are procrastinating!) Would you ever “fast“?  I’m not sure I could do it.  Okay, I know I couldn’t because if it’s been like 2 hours since my last snack I act like I’m staaaarrrrving.   Have you heard of Purpose Jewelry?  They have some beautiful pieces, like the jubilee necklace below, and are all handcrafted by survivors of modern-day slavery.  Beauty and goodness– the best combination.   Are you a procrastinator?  I’m the WORST at putting off the things I don’t like to do,…

    High Five For Friday!

How was your week??  Mine was certainly a readjustment after taking a few days off relaxing with family.  Here is a recap and what I am looking forward to: 1. I finished my third half marathonand first trail race!  It was a rough one– the terrain was much harder than I expected, but I’m so glad I did it!  I also got my first black toenail, and according to my mom, that means I am a real runner! 🙂  (Keep a lookout for an upcoming review on the race!) 2. Right after I finished the race, Kevin’s family showed up at our house with a box of food!  It was…

    Wanderlust

I am pretty sure I have felt “wanderlust” for as long as I can remember.  I may not have had a word for it, but the feelings were deep in my heart.  I didn’t really understand how bad it was until I was getting ready to leave France after studying aboard for a summer.  My heart ached.  I wanted so badly to stay and keep exploring. After getting married, my husband and I made it a goal to travel as much as possible.  We have seen some amazing sights already, and have a long list of places we both want to go.  We spend a lot of our time watching…

    Quotables: on waking up.

Sometimes I find quotes which just speak to me. They make my heart sing with happiness, empathy, or thoughtfulness. I generally journal about these feelings, and plan to share them occasionally.    I’m a morning person. I wake up most mornings at 5:30, go greet my smiling dog, make some (oh so glorious) coffee, and start getting ready for my day. But some mornings… oof! Sometimes I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, as they say. And then, if one little thing goes wrong, I’m crabby all day. On these days, I really need to keep this quote in mind. These days are perfect, even in the…

    It’s a good life.

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you aren’t sure whether you should duck, jump, scramble out of the way, or just take it. I’m not sure yet which way I have gone, but my first step is writing more about the beautiful parts of life. My husband and I enjoy good food, traveling, fun, fashion, and living it up in a beautiful college town. I hope you will join me on this journey and share your thoughts, ideas, fears, and joys right along with me, because even in the scary mess of it, this life is good. It’s a good life, indeed.
