    High Five for Friday 1.30

You guys! I feel like I haven’t been here in forever! I have been MIA for a while now due to work…. it has been absolutely ca-ra-zy! I think things are going back to normal now, and hopefully that means more posts! Here’s some highlights from my week: 1. Last Saturday I went on an absolutely great run. I hit my goal pace. The weather was gorgeous. I can’t complain about a thing. 2. After finishing my run, I realized I had hit my goal of raising $500 for Project Purple, and did a little happy dance! I’m so excited the Lincoln Marathon has partnered with Project Purple and I’m…

    High Five for Friday 1.15

Hello everyone and happy happy happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week.  Here is a recap of mine: 1. As I mentioned before, I was lucky enough to spend part of last week in Tampa!  It was quite a shock going from negative 25 windchills to 50 degrees, but in the best possible way. 2. I am so excited about participating in Project Purple, and I can’t believe I am almost halfway to hitting my goal and it has only been a week since I signed up!  I may just have to up my goal 🙂  Check out my fundraising page to learn more about why I…

    Mileage Matters

To keep me on track (and honest) with my BIG goal of 2015 miles in 2015, I thought I would post once or twice a month about the workouts I have done and where I stand each month. So far, 2015 is off to a pretty good start.  Traveling usually messes up my workouts, but I did pretty good.  One thing I noticed was that I haven’t been in the pool at all, and I reallly need to.  But it is just sooooo hard to get in the water when it is below zero outside!  That is really my only excuse, and it is not a good one.  Plus, I…

Tampa: where hot showers are nonexistent

I have had several opportunities to travel within the past few years at my current position, and I have to say I love them!  A lot of people don’t like doing CLEs (Continuing Legal Education classes for you non-lawyers), but I love them.  Probably because I am a geek and would go back to school in a heartbeat. Last week I was able to go to Tampa Florida for a conference, and stayed two extra days to explore the town.  My time in Tampa was… interesting. For the conference we stayed at a very nice, very expensive hotel which had no hot water to speak of.  Seriously, the majority of…

    Jessi’s Run for Uncle John

As I said before, I have set a few “goals” for this year, including my big one of 2015 miles in 2015. Another one I wanted to try was raising money for a cause through a running event, and I am well on my way after signing up to raise money for Purple Project! This goal is near and dear to my heart for several reasons. First and foremost, my sweet Uncle John passed away three years ago after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. He was an amazing man, and he is incredibly missed. Cancer sucks. Really. All cancer. I wish it would go away forever, and never come…

    High Five for Friday! 1.2

Happy Friday! It sure feels like it should actually be a Sunday after having yesterday off, but I will take it! 1. Spending time with family is the best. It’s sometimes hard (ok most of the time…) to live a whole state away, but being near them is always great. 2. Kevin and I started a new thing where we are going to play board games once a week, and we FINALLY bought scrabble! I love geeking out at scrabble. Scrabble certainly isn’t dumb!  3. I set big goals for 2015, including hitting 2015 miles! I have a few other goals in the works, and may share them at some…
