High Five for Friday 3.13

Happy Friday the 13th!  I love how superstitious people get whenever there is a Friday the 13th.  It has never bothered me because my birthday is on the 13th of December.  I have had several birthdays on a Friday, including when I turned 16 and nothing bad has happened to me.

This Friday the 13th I plan to work on my Fancy Fox quilt a bit and go to bed early.  Don’t be jealous of my party lifestyle (insert winky and/or sleepy emoji here).

Here’s a recap of my week!

Saturday we went for our long run out on gravel roads.  (Side note– when I first typed “run” I actually typed “fun” which is true– running is fun!)  It was an amazingly beautiful day, and those 10 miles nearly flew by.  Ok, so the last mile was a bit rough, but the rest was amazing!

Last weekend we finally made our way out to a UNL Gymnastics meet and it was so fun.  The girls were fantastic and they won a very close meet!

The weather lately has been amazing.  It is still crazy to me to think that just a few weeks ago the windchills were -18 and now it’s 70 degrees.  I know the heatwave won’t last long, so I am enjoying it as much as possible!

A picture of Holmes Lake from my run on Monday.  I didn’t want it to end.

Nearly every Wednesday during lunch I go to a free yoga class and it is one of the highlights of my week.  The instructor is fantastic and always has the best things to say.  This week we did a little meditation at the end of class where the instructor had us imagine a stage.  Then she had us think of a person who weren’t getting along with or were mad at.  Then she had us send them love by imagining that we were saying “I love you.  I forgive you.  It’s ok.”  We did it again with someone we knew needed love.  Woah it was powerful.  Just writing this I have chills again.  We all need to send more love into the world.

This weather has been so pretty, I had to buy some pretty flowers.

Last night we went on a scavenger hunt in our marathon training class!  The weather has been gorgeous and it was so nice to run without thinking about mileage.

Standing in front of one of our scavenger hunt finds– a quote by Warren Buffet.  I really regretted packing a long sleeved shirt to wear!

How was you week?

Are you superstitious?

Do you do yoga?  Meditation?
