    High five for Friday!

Wooooweeee it’s finally Friday! And a long weekend awaits so it’s even better!  Today I’m getting my hair done. I still really wish I could do the pink hair look but I’m just not sure I can pull it off.  Last night I went to a lipsense party. I have a feeling it’s a new obsession. I got the colors blu-red, sassy z, and fire n ice. Have you tried it? What did you think?  I ordered this dress and plan to wear it for the 4th. It arrives today and I can’t wait to see if it fits!  Over the 4th I plan to read this book. One of my…

    Pros of pink eye

(compared to other illnesses…)  Emerson woke up with a crusty, swollen, red eye. I immediately knew it was pink eye. I said “ohhhh shoot” and Emerson agreed by repeating “shoot!” Her pink eye got me thinking about how I can’t complain because it’s actually the best sickness. Here’s why:  A sick day without actually being sick.  Emerson is happy to do some work while I do my own. Remote access FTW. Movies. All day long. Have you see Moana yet? I was obsessed by the end of the first song. Although she is “sick” she isn’t clingy or crabby or excessively needy. Win win.  You don’t normally need to see…

    High five for Friday!

We made it through yet another crazy busy, beautiful week! Here’s some highlights!  This week I started listening to the Awesome with Alison podcast. If you follow Alison on Instagram you already know her first name should be fun! Her podcast has been a joy to listen to while also very motivating and powerful. I also am pretty sure it’s the reason I brought back the blog. Check it out. (But no spoilers please, I started at the very beginning and am working my way current!)  Kevin is out of town this weekend, so it’s just us girls hanging out. Emerson has her first gymnastics class this weekend (and yes…

    Style Challenge(d)

Post pregnancy I found the idea of getting dressed for work less than appealing. My body was different, and while I was and am ok with that, but my clothes didn’t quite fit the same. I resorted to wearing black pants, a comfy tee, and a sweater to work nearly everyday. I didn’t buy new clothes because I was still hopefull my wider hips would miraculously slip back into my beautiful collection of size 4/6 pencil skirts.  One day I was scanning Instagram when I came across a post by Audrey from Putting Me Together. She was hosting a spring style challenge group where she put together 45 outfits. I…

    The Must Dos

I’ve realized lately that no matter how many things I cross off my to do list, I’ll always feel a step behind. The dishes never stop. The work projects never end. The toys will always find a way back onto the floor, alongside the piles of dog hair that seem to appear out of nowhere every few hours. I’ll always be chasing an email inbox that says “zero unread messages” and I’ll forever wish I could respond to texts immediately (or at least remember to do it in a timely manner).  I’ve always been a list maker. One to check things off. I love the feeling of using a fat…
