Yesterday I went Christmas shopping at Ulta and (surprisingly!) only spent $10 on myself! (Pats self on back…)
One of the presents I bought was supposed to come with a gift with purchase, but they were all out when I got there. The cashier sweetly threw more makeup samples in my bag to make up for it, and it reminded me that we haven’t chatted about how to get free makeup at makeup stores!
Both Ulta and Sephora will give out lots of samples. Ulta you usually need to ask for them, but Sephora almost always throw them in the bag when you check out. Also, if there are any products you aren’t sure about, ask for a sample! This is especially true for things like expensive foundation. They will give you a little tub with a few days worth of product so you can make sure it works for you.
Speaking of foundation, please ignore how mine looks in this photo. (yikes…) I tried a new one today and it doesn’t seem to be laying on my skin very well. I liked how it looked this morning though, so I’m going to try it again with a different primer. Sometimes some makeup products just don’t play well together.
